Fox in the Henhouse
January 15, 2010
Radio host, former Republican mayoral candidate of Lewisville, TX and old high school peer of mine, Winston Edmondson, has invited me on his radio show today to discuss anarchism from 3-4pm CST (Dallas, TX). If you don’t live in Dallas, you can listen to a live online stream or, if you miss it, the online archive.
And how fitting it is that this show is taking place on the birthday of Pierre-Joseph Proudhon!
If you are here because you heard about the blog on the show, welcome! Please have a look around and let me recommend the “Essentials” link on the sidebar for more reading.

How did it go? It’s not in the archives yet and it doesn’t seem to be anywhere else on the site but i’ll listen to it at some point when it is available.

It went about as well as one could expect given the unexpected three-against-one format. Winston had two guest hosts that I would describe as “spirited”. That, combined with the commercial breaks, meant that I usually didn’t get to finish my point on most answers. The questions were typical, I would say (“People will kill each other”, “Anarchists are historically violent” etc.) Interestingly, the topic turned to IP because one of the guest hosts is a sadly confused IP attorney; I guess you can’t fault a guy for feeling that you just threatened the existence of his whole profession.
The archive should be out early this week and, when it is, I’ll be putting out a commentary with longer responses to their questions and comments.

Sounds like it was pretty tough. That sort of debate is always frustrating. I guess it’s to be expected though and atleast we’re getting some attention at any rate. A commentary definately sounds like a good idea.
